Jesus: Reaching Divine Potential

When I hear “Jesus,” I think of a hero, a being or soul who left a deep and lasting impression on people through the ages. However, I believe that Jesus is not a soul to be looked up to as some magical being. Instead, he can be admired and acknowledged as one of us – an ordinary person with extraordinary insights.

Jesus represents how a life looks when one connects with and expresses the authentic self, the divine spirit. Jesus explored spirituality, embracing the ancient Eastern traditions and teachings during his middle years. He learned to meditate and to use his innate abilities to heal and to transform individuals towards a life of service. He is one of us – a seeker. He should be viewed as a human who had discovered his truth and had lived that truth to the fullest. Jesus transcended and released conditioned, ego-based beliefs, redefining what’s possible when one embraces compassion and love.

Everybody has an infinite amount of potential. We are all equally capable of achieving the capacity of our higher selves. But first, we must connect with and listen to our higher selves; that is the key. We must not continually yield to what our mind wants; we must diminish the ego’s desires. We must quiet the mind and allow our soul to speak. But we must not simply speak words, we must create movement… shift the brain’s known and conditioned way of thinking. To access ones “powers” (also known as the higher self), one must put everything aside except for the spirit.

The spirit contains nothing but purity. The higher being is the soul focused purely on loving and radiating light. Jesus was a healer. He was a man of the people. He walked on water. He did everything from the soul with only the best intentions.

In today’s time, our spirit is clouded with the layers of society’s conditioning. We are so defined by these layers that our ego wears them with pride. But this is the false self.  We must learn to connect with our higher selves and to reject what does not serve the authentic, divine spirit… the soul. Just as Jesus gave without expectation of return, so must we give from the soul in the form of love, higher vibration, and connection.
